Meet the Team

Our Admin Team is ready to assist the AU community regarding the Math & Stats Tutoring Lab and Online Statistical Software Support. Also, we have been able to work with faculty to assign tutors to certain courses with quantitative components. Faculty interested in that assistance are welcome to inquire with us about it. Other services we perform include administering the Math Placement Exam, conducting course articulations, running the Calculus Boost Camps, and sponsoring STEM Time Conversations

Tutors

Our tutoring team comprises both undergraduate and graduate students. The team is well-versed with mathematical, statistical, and data science skills. Also, some tutors are proficient in statistical software. We invite AU students with quantitative components in their coursework to visit the Lab in Don Myer room 103. Below are tutors’ profiles highlighting their academic backgrounds, quantitative skills, or statistical software proficiency, and cool facts about them!

Ashley TottenHello! My name is Ashley. I am a sophomore, double majoring in journalism and data science for political science. I am proficient in statistics and Calculus 1 and 2. I want to provide guidance and encouragement to help students feel confident in their math abilities.

Eliana DenteMy name is Eliana Dente and I am a senior majoring in Justice & Law (Criminal Justice concentration) and Political Science with a minor in Psychology. I have completed Intro to Justice Research and Research Methods in Psychology and am interested in data within the political science field. I understand how much anxiety comes with not understanding a concept or falling behind in a course first-hand and want to make a safe environment to express concerns and collaborate to create a strong understanding of the material. I have experience with Excel and Sheets with some background with STATA. I can tutor most Q1 courses and have worked as a Math Teaching Assistant and Student Ambassador for AU, so I am highly familiar with resources and can help navigate STAT-202, 160, 203, and 204 alongside 100-lvl MATH courses, too!

Lydia HinkleyHi, I’m Lydia! I’m an applied math major here at AU. I’m currently a senior expecting to graduate in Fall 2024. I’ve taken calculus 1,2,3, differential equations, linear algebra, foundations, and both real and complex analysis.
