Each year the School of Communication hosts many exciting events including screenings, guest speakers, seminars, and receptions.

Hear from the SOC Alum who captured the assassination attempt, insurrection, pandemic, and landmark moments that have framed the world as we know it. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Anna Moneymaker is a Getty Images staff photographer in Washington, DC. She joined the staff of Getty Images in 2021 and covers national news and politics. Moneymaker received her bachelor’s degree from American University in 2018, with a major in film in media arts and minor in international studies. Register Here
Curious about what happens behind the scenes of a podcast? Join us at the Media Production Center for a hands-on experience creating an episode of Media in the Mix featuring SOC Dean Marnel Niles Goins. You'll develop video content, set up lighting, mic talent, and record the episode—all while gaining real-world podcasting skills to boost your resume.

Ever wondered how a hashtag could change the TV landscape? Join us on Wednesday, February 19th from 6pm to 7pm at the Doyle-Forman Theater in the McKinley Building, as Professor Sherri Williams discusses her groundbreaking book, "Black Social Television: How Black Twitter Changed Television."
