Eduardo Ferrer Mac-Gregor Poisot
Eduardo Ferrer Mac-Gregor Poisot is currently Judge and former President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and Researcher at the Institute of Legal Research of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Doctor in Law from the University of Navarra, Spain, specializing in "Human Rights" at the Institut International des Droits de l'Homme, Strasbourg, France. Doctor Honoris Causa by the Autonomous University of Baja California.
Researcher Level III of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico. Professor by opposition of "constitutional procedural law" in the Faculty of Law of the UNAM, where he has also taught graduate courses. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Institute of Public Defenders and member of the Academic Committee of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch. He was Judge ad hoc of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in the case of Cabrera García and Montiel Flores. Mexico and held various positions in the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, having been his representative before the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. Member of more than twenty scientific associations, among which: International Academy of Comparative Law; International Association of Procedural Law. He is currently founding President of the Mexican Institute of Constitutional Procedural Law and the Ibero-American Institute of Constitutional Procedural Law. Director of the Ibero-American Journal of Constitutional Procedural Law (with 24 issues) and the Porrúa Library of Constitutional Procedural Law (with more than 100 titles to date). And coordinator of the "Justicia Interamericana" collection of the Tirant lo Blanch publishing house. Author of books, monographs and articles on procedural law, constitutional law, international law and human rights. His latest books are: The new amparo trial.
