SCCR44 Outcomes: Steps Forward to a More Balanced Copyright System?
The World Intellectual Property Organization met in Geneva from 6 to 8 November to discuss copyright and related rights. Three items were on the agenda: - A treaty for broadcasters - Exceptions and limitations to copyright for the public interest (libraries, archives, research, access to knowledge) - Copyright in the digital environment (Artificial Intelligence etc.) What were the outcomes? In this video, members of the project on the Right to Research in International Copyright Law explain how the latest WIPO meetings took several steps forward in achieving a fairer and more balanced copyright system.
