Application and Admission

Interested in applying to the AU Catalyst program? Apply here. Applications are due by Wednesday, February 19 by 5:00 pm EST.

AU Catalyst welcomes all rising second-year AU undergraduate students interested in preparing intentionally for work and/or graduate school. The program encourages first generation, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Pell-eligible students to apply.

The program annually admits 16-20 students from a wide range of backgrounds. Students apply during spring semester of their first year. A selection committee assesses candidates on their communicated and demonstrated interest in mentorship and leadership development and their commitment to self-development and holistic growth. In order for your application to be considered, please:

  • Complete the AU Catalyst application – The application asks you to respond to 5 short answer questions. We are looking for depth and thoughtfulness in responses and not necessarily length.
  • Ask an AU Faculty member to serve as a reference – The application asks you to provide the name and email address of one AU faculty member who can serve as a character reference. Our office will reach out and provide the faculty member with the short, three question survey. Note: Applicants selected from the application pool will receive an invitation to interview. Please see below.
